BLUESTEEL Project will improve prediction and control of Legionella risks at CELSA GROUP thanks to biosensors

The BlueSteel project, coordinated by the Catalan Water Partnership (CWP), aims to design, implement and validate a digital twin for water management in the hot rolling plant of the CELSA GROUP in Catalonia. Through the application of advanced digital technologies such as IoT, Big Data, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, BlueSteel will make it possible to monitor water circuits in real time, automate processes and predict possible failures, thus improving operational efficiency and reducing water consumption. This rolling plant, one of the group’s most important production centres, uses water in various industrial processes, such as cooling products and equipment, cleaning facilities and treating effluents. By integrating data from SCADA systems, PLCs and sensors into a single digital platform, the project makes it possible to optimize water use and improve operational safety, including a solution for the prediction and control of Legionella risks.
